Asbestos inspections and asbestos testing is carried out / coordinated by Finalinspect. Finalinspect also prepares easy to read asbestos reports on building materials in homes, town houses, apartments, units and commercial buildings such as warehouses, commercial offices and retail buildings that may contain asbestos.
Asbestos is well known and documented as being dangerous to human health. Many older residential buildings, commercial buildings and industrial buildings inspected today are still lined with dangerous building materials that contain asbestos. Accurate and reliable asbestos testing is the only way to know for certain whether specific building materials contain asbestos.
At residential properties, asbestos has been used as wall cladding around garages, sheds and bungalows, roof coverings, the material enclosing the underside of eaves around houses and the linings of internal ceilings and walls – typically in bathrooms, laundries and rooms containing toilets. While obtaining samples of building materials from these areas for asbestos testing is not difficult, the investigative process must be carried out safely.
At commercial and industrial properties, asbestos containing materials include external roof and wall cladding, gutters and downpipes, insulation around pipes and ceilings and wall cladding inside amenities areas. Obtaining samples of building materials from commercial and industrial properties for asbestos testing must also be carried out safely to avoid staff being exposed to asbestos fibres.
Before any minor or major construction works (including renovations) are carried out on a building, it is strongly recommended that the building and surrounds are thoroughly inspected to determine whether or not any building materials containing asbestos are present.
Please note that building materials that are identified as likely to contain asbestos should not be disturbed in any way. Building materials containing asbestos should not be broken, drilled into, sanded or cut.
If you think that there may be asbestos either inside or around a building that you either live in or work in, or are interested in purchasing, or you believe you may have been exposed to asbestos, we recommend that you call Finalinspect immediately to arrange for an asbestos inspection and to arranged for accurate asbestos testing to be completed.
Finalinspect has arranged for many samples of building materials to be carefully removed from properties and then arranged asbestos testing to be carried out in accredited testing laboratories to determine with certainty whether or not they contain asbestos.
We also advise how to safely and legally remove asbestos from properties.
