Building inspections across the Mornington Peninsula.
Building inspections across the Mornington Peninsula are now provided by Finalinspect, Melbourne’s leading building inspection firm.
In 2020, Finalinspect decided to establish an office in Sorrento to service the needs of clients building new homes across the Mornington Peninsula.
Since the Covid Pandemic hit Australia and in particular caused repeated and lengthy lockdowns in Victoria, there have been many more people wanting to relocate down on the Mornington Peninsula – away from the more densely populated suburbs of Melbourne. Melbourne residents are increasingly becoming less tolerant of the following:
High density living.
High density living.
Losing their identity in densely populated areas.
Traffic congestion.
Noise pollution.
Poor air quality.
Small blocks of land.
Consequently, over the last several months, there has been an increasing desire by Melbourne residents to move out of the suburbs and head for the country or for seaside towns – particularly the Mornington Peninsula. With this move there has been an increased demand for real estate where new homes can be constructed to meet the needs of people who are now seeking more work / life balance.
The need for more building inspections across the Mornington Peninsula is increasing as more and more people move to enjoy the lifestyle that seaside townships offer.
While there are many experienced builders constructing good quality new homes across the Mornington Peninsula, there remain a number of builders who give the industry a bad name. Their attention to detail is simply lacking and the old adage that close enough is good enough just doesn’t cut it any more.
There is a plethora of building codes, construction guidelines, Australian Standards and manufacturer’s installation instructions that builders must comply with when they construct new homes. Most people who are engaging builders to construct a new home for them are simply not aware of most of the industry guidelines that are relevant for the construction of new homes and even if they are aware of some guidelines, they often find them confusing and difficult to understand.
Finalinspect deployed a very effective 3-step building and inspection reporting process over thirty years ago, to assist clients before handover or pre settlement. Prior to pre handover or pre settlement, Finalinspect visits the construction site, completes extremely thorough building inspections and prepares highly accurate reports that clearly outline:
- What the defects are.
- Where the defects are located and explains why they are defects (e.g. by reference to specific sections of the National Construction Code, Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards etc.) and
- The remedial works that need to be completed by the builder to rectify all defects observed by Finalinspect on the building site.
Our building inspection reports are promptly emailed to our clients who can then forward the report on to their builder or the developer so that the necessary rectification works can be promptly completed. Alternatively, Finalinspect can email the reports directly to the builder or developer.
Because of the detail provided in the building inspection reports prepared by Finalinspect, compliance with our reports by builders and developers is very high – in excess of 98% of all reports.
In summary, we independently guide and provide advice to our clients prior to handover and prior to settlement. We make sure that our clients get what they pay for and that their new home, apartment or townhouse is constructed compliant with all relevant industry guidelines.
So if you need to organise an experienced building consultant to inspect your new home, apartment or townhouse situated in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne or across the Mornington Peninsula, call us now on 0408 132 152 to discuss the benefits of appointing a completely independent building inspection service.
